Dubai Real Estate Institute Concludes Successful Visit To Jordan
(12 May 2018)

Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), the educational arm of Dubai Land Department (DLD), has concluded its successful business trip to Jordan.

During the visit, which was led by CEO of DREI Mahmoud El Burai, the delegation met senior officials from a number of government and private institutions concerning the real estate sector. The trip resulted in the plan to launch a specialised programme for real estate training in Jordan that will satisfy the needs of the Jordanian market and lead to deals and partnerships between the public and private sectors.

Mahmoud El Burai said: "Our trip to Jordan was a continuation of our ambitious efforts to expand DREI's plan to raise real estate awareness in regional markets. The visits achieved the desired objectives, especially in enhancing real estate capabilities and expertise, and in establishing partnerships with a number of real estate training agencies in the country, thus contributing to the development of local markets. We also visited several neighbouring countries with the intention of establishing cooperative and strategic partnerships, and strengthening relations to establish a regulatory framework for real estate training."

Public Sector

DREI visited the Housing and Urban Development Corporation, and held a meeting with the Department of Land and Survey in Jordan, agreeing to sign a memorandum of understanding and organise training courses for the members of the department, as well as for employees in the Jordanian real estate sector. The delegation also took note of issues that need resolving and that will require training efforts at the Greater Amman Municipality.

Private Sector

The Jordanian Engineers Association welcomed the idea of a mutual partnership between the two entities, and agreed to prepare clear paths for future work structures, especially in regards to the association's training centre, which will benefit from the training.

The DREI team also met with the Jordan Housing Development Association, which specialises in training real estate developers, and a proposal was drafted for them to participate in the training course to familiarise themselves with problems inherent  in the Jordanian real estate sector.
