First Middle East Fertility Conference To Be Held In Dubai On 21-22 September
(5 September 2018)

Organised by HealthPlus Fertility Centers, part of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical), the 1st Middle East Fertility Conference will take place from September 21 to 22, at the Sofitel Hotel Downtown in Dubai.

The conference hosts over 28 IVF experts from the UAE and 6 international speakers. Over 300 healthcare professionals from the fertility, gynecology, obstetrics, genetics and laboratory fields are expected to attend. The conference is accredited for 19.5 Continuous Medical Education (CME) hours.

Majd Abu Zant, Chief Executive Officer of HealthPlus Network of Specialty Centers, said the conference is considered one of the largest specialized IVF meetings to be held in the region as it hosts a large number of renowned experts in the field of fertility who will discuss the latest trends in the diagnosis and treatment of delayed pregnancy and infertility in parallel with international standards and protocols. The conference will also shed light on artificial intelligence in reproductive medicine.

"Physicians from HealthPlus Fertility Centers and our sister facility Danat Al Emarat Hospital will be giving talks on IVF and the use of advanced minimally invasive surgeries in gynecology."

He added "The conference coincides with our expansion in Dubai with our recent opening of our second branch of HealthPlus Fertility Centers. Furthermore, and in line with our commitment towards supporting medical education in the region, this conference which is led by our IVF experts will be organized annually in the Emirate of Dubai."

Dr. Bohaira El Geyoushi, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine Consultant at HealthPlus Fertility Center in Dubai and the Conference President, said that 24 lectures and scientific papers will be provided in the 2-day conference by numerous renowned speakers from the UAE, Middle East, USA and Europe.

Dr. El Geyoushi highlighted that the conference will discuss recent and important topics related to fertility, such as ovarian tissue preservation, the latest technologies used for pre-implantation genetics testing, improving current techniques to increase the number of eggs retrieved and the incidence of pregnancy and the latest techniques of embryos freezing. Speakers will shed light on the modern methods in the selection of healthy embryos, as well as discussing the techniques of the use of minimal access surgery and day case procedures as therapeutic treatments to increase pregnancy success rates."

Dr. Bohaira said that she will present a talk on the importance of single embryo transfer, pointing out that international scientific studies indicate that the incidence of pregnancy rises to 50% with the single embryo transfer, and that pregnancy complications increases with two embryos transfer by 25%. Standards and approved protocols in UAE imply that if the age of the mother is less than 30 years, single embryo is transferred, and if her age is less than 35 years, two embryos can be transferred, but if the age is above 40 years, then it is possible to transfer three embryos, taking into consideration that some complications like miscarriage, gestational diabetes, preterm birth and complications of prematurity increase with twins and multiple pregnancy.

She added that Dr. Sadoon Sadoon, Obstetrics & Gynecology Consultant and Minimally Invasive Surgeon at Danat Al Emarat Hospital will talk about the use of minimally invasive surgeries in gynecological procedures while Dr. Nahla Kazem, Fertility Consultant at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, will present a lecture on the use of artificial intelligence in fertility.

Presenting from Egypt, Professor Hisham Al-Anany will give a lecture on ovarian tissue preservation. Joining us from London will be Dr. Fakhera Feroz-Zaidi, Clinician Scientist of Gynecology and Obstetrics who will give a lecture on "Endometrial Transcriptome and Proteome Profile in Women with Impaired Fertility". Moreover, Dr. Rawaa Al-Janabi, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Iraq, will speak about Polycystic Ovaries which is one of the most common reasons of delays in pregnancy.

The 2-day conference, organised by Lilla Events Management, will also include three hands-on training workshops and a medical exhibition where the leading pharma companies will present their latest products and technologies in the field of IVF and Gynecology.
