Dubai Economy Launches ’Consumer Happiness Centre’ At Al-Futtaim Group’s Trading Enterprises
(6 August 2017)
Initiative to strengthen consumer protection and improve sales & after sales experience, and to facilitate amicable solution to consumer complaints

The Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in Dubai Economy, and Trading Enterprises Co. LLC, an Al-Futtaim Group company and the official distributors of Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Volvo cars in the UAE and Jeep® in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, have opened the ‘Consumer Happiness Counter’ at Rashidiya Service Centre. The initiative is part of Dubai Economy’s strategic objective of enhancing happiness across the emirate and promoting cordial relations between traders and consumers.

Launched by Dubai Economy, the initiative aims at providing an improved shopping experience in Dubai and an opportunity for consumers to have their complaints resolved faster and without government intervention.

A delegation from Dubai Economy led by Abdullatif Al Marzouqi, Senior Manager of Consumer Awareness Section in CCCP, attended the opening of the first counter along with Mohammed Maktari, Managing Director, Trading Enterprises, at a ceremony attended by senior officials of both entities.

“In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to make happiness and positivity an inherent part of the UAE lifestyle, Dubai Economy has recommended all private sector companies to open dedicated Consumer Happiness Counters at their Consumer outlets. This initiative was recommended to handle consumer complaints effectively, with escalation only taking place on the rare occasions when an agreeable consumer resolution cannot be offered at the company level,” said Al Marzouqi.

Al Marzouqi said that the ‘Consumer Happiness Counter’ is a significant step in monitoring and documenting the relationship between merchants and customers and reinforcing Dubai as a regional and international business hub.

“Consumer happiness is a core value at Trading Enterprises and we welcome this initiative from Dubai Economy,” said Mohammed Maktari. “We have renamed all of our service centres as Consumer Happiness Centres and a dedicated Consumer Happiness Counter at the front office, along with a Consumer Happiness Manager, are now permanent highlights of this important and positive initiative by Trading Enterprises.”

Earlier in the year, the sales and service management staff at Trading Enterprises successfully completed a series of training programmes conducted by Dubai Economy. The objective was to increase consumer trust and happiness, and provide faster resolution of any consumer concerns.
