H.H. Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Emirates Gender Balance Council and Founder of the Dubai Women Foundation, has praised the leading initiative of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority to establish a balance between male and female employees in all parts of the authority, to raise productivity levels and establish a better work-life balance.

She thanked the Authority for its co-operation in achieving the goals of the Emirates Gender Balance Council, which was established two years ago under the directives of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. These goals include reducing the gender gap in all national sectors, providing equal opportunities for men and women to participate in the country’s overall sustainable development, and promoting the UAE’s position in international competitiveness reports on gender balance.

This step would be a motivating factor for other public and private sector institutions to apply similar policies and procedures, which aim to promote a working environment that considers gender equality, she added.

She also stressed that the Emirates Gender Balance Council is seeking, through its co-operation with the public and private sectors, to make the UAE an international model to follow and continue its achievements in supporting women, due to the support of the wise leadership for them since the nation was established.
