Sheikh Maktoum statement came during the opening of the UFC Gym, a franchise combining mixed martial arts (MMA) and fitness, in Dubai’s Business Bay. The UFC Gym is the first UFC gym to launch in the Middle East, with the aim of expanding the geographical reach of the franchise. 

Following the opening ceremony, Sheikh Maktoum toured the facility of the gym accompanied by Lorenzo Fertitta, CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which will give people of all ages the opportunity to train at UFC’s fighting cage and fuse MMA with traditional fitness training philosophies.
Sheikh Maktoum expressed satisfaction over the advanced resistance equipment and training zones offered for the members of the gym.
