Female students learn more about the importance of space travel at Global Women’s Forum Dubai
(24 February 2016)

The session, which took place in the Discovery - the signature creativity space at the heart of Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society meetings, explored space travel, giving students an opportunity to learn how to launch a rocket, establish communications in space, and share data with the Earth.

2500 students have been involved in the Airbus Little Engineer initiative, which was launched in 2013, 50% of which are young women.

Jana Obeid, Communications Officer at Airbus, said: “Airbus supports diversity, which contributes to the development of the company and the world in general. Through our sessions at Global Women’s Forum Dubai, which we’re hosting in collaboration with the General Civil Aviation Authority, we want to show young women that they can become the future aviators or astronauts. Through focusing on their STEM subjects, they can get to wherever they want to be.”
