On this occasion, Sheikh Ahmed affirmed that military service is an opportunity for Emirati nationals to prove their loyalty towards their country, people and leadership, adding that national service will instil a sense of unity and solidarity among UAE citizens. He also added that national service is an opportunity to give back to the country. “It gives me great honour to stand with my fellow countrymen who have joined the national military service today. I want to salute them as well as all those who have rendered military service previously and those who will do so in the future in response to the call of the country to commit to safeguarding their homeland’s security and ensuring its prosperity,” said Sheikh Ahmed. 

Sheikh Ahmed further said: “The brave men of the UAE armed forces are a source of dignity, pride and strength for us, protecting our achievements so that we can maintain the UAE’s position at the forefront of developed countries. Today my fellow countrymen of the fifth batch of recruits and I are honoured to take on this great responsibility; therefore, we ask Allah Almighty to help us fulfil the obligations that the leadership has entrusted to us.”

Sheikh Ahmed called on his fellow recruits to present an honourable image of young Emiratis as individuals capable of shouldering great responsibilities, setting an example of commitment and discipline and living up to the high aspirations of the leadership.
