Bring Back the Spiritual Element of Islam to Tackle Radicalisation, Summit Hears
(13 February 2017)

The Islamic curriculum is being delivered without the spiritual element of the religion that preaches the love of good, said the United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Tolerance.

Speaking during Day Two of the World Government Summit 2017 in Dubai, Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi added that addressing this issue will help combat, and root out, the intolerance adopted by Islamic radicalisers.

“Islam has been hijacked, and what we see today is not Islam,” she said. “What is happening today is the falsifying of the core our what all religions came from.”

She went on to stress the need for parents to adequately deliver the core values of Islam, which teach peace and love, to their children.
