Globalisation is far from over, but it is leading to new power plays, according to Parag Khanna, author and international affairs expert, speaking on Day Two of the World Government Summit 2017.

“The future with growing interconnectivity is about geometric power, rather than hierarchical," he said. "Every continent is becoming important, there is no one world super power."

Khanna pointed out that transport and technology infrastructure had the capability of creating new ‘trade wars’.

“Digital under-ocean cables transporting knowledge contribute to liquid borders creating value, the question is who profits from these supply chains,” he explained.
