We are also are thrilled that Etisalat and The Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group return once again for the Godolphin Mile and UAE Derby respectively, embarking on their fifth and sixth Dubai World Cup with us.”

Ahmed Khoory, SVP – Commercial Operations – GCC, Middle East & Iran said “Emirates is honoured to once again be the title sponsor of the Dubai World Cup, a race that always attracts the finest horses from across the globe. Since the first running of the race back in 1996, Emirates has supported the event as it has grown to become a highlight on the world racing calendar, so it will be a proud moment to witness the start of an incredibly exciting new era for the race at Meydan.”

Commenting on its sponsorship, Dubai Duty Free’s Managing Director, Colm McLoughlin, said, “Horseracing has become an increasingly important element of our sport sponsorship portfolio and we are proud to be part of the Dubai World Cup‘s impressive 15-year history. The opening of the iconic Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse is indeed a great achievement and we are looking forward to a great day of racing on the 27th of March where Dubai Duty Free, the world’s number one airport retailer, is sponsoring the US$5 million Group 1 Dubai Duty Free race.”

Speaking of their partnership, which began when the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen was known as the Nad Al Sheba Sprint, Gulf News’ Executive Director of Marketing & Sales Mr. Duleep George added: “We have been associated with the Dubai World Cup since its inception in 1996 and are proud to be part of the 15th running of this event that also marks the inauguration of the spectacular Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse. We also look forward to our own race, the US$2 Million dollar Dubai Golden Shaheen, which once again, promises to be very exciting.”

Mr. Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director – UAE, Emaar Properties, said: “The Dubai World Cup is a proud tradition at Emaar as we continue our sponsorship of the US$250,000 Dubai Kahayla Classic for Purebred Arabian Horses. Emaar’s partnership with Dubai World Cup highlights our commitment to events that bring together UAE residents while also celebrating the region’s rich heritage. The Dubai World Cup will further strengthen the tourism sector of the Emirate, energised by Emaar’s Inauguration of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, the opening of the Dubai Mall and the launch of The Dubai Fountain.”

It is fantastic to be involved again in one of the top UAE sporting events, especially given we are a UAE based company and very proud of our heritage.
