Fashion in Action |
 It was the first time that I was actually looking at models walking down the ramp and I must say, probably I was more thrilled to see fashion in action than the models and designers themselves. It was during the Dubai Shopping Festival that I got to witness fashion fiesta in the Burjuman mall. The best part was the venue was so accessible to the common man! It was in one of the lobby’s and a perfect stage was set up for the models to sashay and show all those beautiful clothes. Press photographers, amazing make ups, deadly designer pieces and the elite group of people around; it was surely an experience to see directly and experience first hand fashion. After looking at the hard work that goes into lives of these models and designers, I learnt it was no easy task to walk perfectly in front of onlookers whose job is to look at you. And also that they have to maintain their hour-glass shape figures always (not an easy task for foodies like me)! The venue, the show, the people and the fashion left a lasting impression on me and now and I have a new found respect for the retail industry of Dubai. Posted by: Swathy 19 May 2009 |
