Abra Rides - A unique experience in Dubai! |
 We live virtually near creek and you can say, a long jump from our window and we land in the Abra station. Many a long evenings have been spent in staring and photographing the creek, the birds that land on it and the colorful Abra rides. So naturally when we tried out the Abra ride, we expected it to be great. It was beyond great. It was exhilarating! And just imagine all it takes is a dirham to get on to other side (you also escape the most notorious traffic nexus of Dubai). It takes just over 5 minutes to cross the creek but the experience is worth it. There are Abra’s picking up passengers, dropping passengers, coming in to park, taking off to cross. Oh! It’s a chaos that’s truly unique. And then when you are in the middle of the creek you can see birds flying next you, over you, taking off from the waters, or just swimming along. Take a ride during sunset and the experience becomes all the more euphoric. The Abra’s and water buses are the best options to commute between the two Dubai’s most populous center’s Bur Dubai and Deira. They are the cheapest, quickest and unique water transport systems. It’s a well managed public transport system designed for the convenience of the public. I recommend the experience to everyone visiting/residing in Dubai.
