Dubai Future Foundation Concludes Its 5th Cohort Of Dubai Future Accelerators

During the 9-week program, the companies worked on finding innovative and smart solutions by employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern technologies for several challenges launched by 12 government entities in Dubai.


 

Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) announced the successful completion of the 5th Cohort of the Dubai Future Accelerators program, which saw participation of 40 startups, including 10 from the UAE.

During the 9-week program, the companies worked on finding innovative and smart solutions by employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern technologies for several challenges launched by 12 government entities in Dubai.

Effective participation

The 5th Dubai Future Accelerators program witnessed huge participation from startups, which resulted in having up to 65% of companies sign a Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with participating government entities and thereafter start working on the addressed challenges.

This percentage is seen as a testament to the continues and recurrent success the program has delivered throughout the past two years. Not only does the Program aim to connect companies and startups with government entities, but also, it seeks to shift mind sets and cultivate and encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship within government entities.

Unique partnerships

In the presence of His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF, the Memorandum of Understandings were signed by government officials including, H.E Humaid Al Qatami, Director General of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), H.E Eng. Dawood Al Hajiri, Director General of Dubai Municipality and H.E Dr. Abdulla Karam, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

H.E Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF, said: “In the 5th Cohort, 40 companies from around the world took part in the program, and 600 companies from 74 countries applied to participate. The program aims to provide government entities with their expertise and innovative technologies to find innovative and smart solutions to the challenges they have launched through the program, by employing modern Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, such as AI technology, Internet of Things (IoT) and Block Chain”.

Dubai Future Accelerators, the largest government supported accelerator program in the region, run by DFF, is an intensive 9-week program that pairs the government of Dubai with global companies and start-ups to use the city as a living testbed and co-create the future as well as creating solutions for global challenges of tomorrow.
