Dubai International Convention Centre
Dubai over the last three decades has firmly established itself as premier tourist, investment and residential destination. Strategically located at the crossroads of three continents, Dubai is the commercial nerve-centre of the region and has emerged as a major player in the global financial network.
The Dubai International Convention Centre represents the balanced progression of Dubai World Trade Centre’s business and is designed to provide impetus to the emirate’s status as an emerging destination for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) business. The new facility is large enough to accommodate events with up to 12,000 delegates and its main multi-purpose hall - named after the late His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum - has the capacity to hold 600 to 6,000 delegates and when set as an auditorium, it can accommodate 4,500 delegates.
Operated by the Dubai World Trade Centre, an organisation that has more than 20 years of experience in the co-ordination and management of international exhibitions and special events, the Dubai International Convention Centre combines superior design with functionality to exceed the expectations of the most discerning meeting planners.
The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) which is considered one of Dubai’s premier landmark properties and business locations was built in 1979 by the late H.H. The Dubai World Trade Centre is considered to be the focal point of business within the Middle East. Since its inauguration in 1979, the centre has played a vital role in stimulating regional and international trade through the UAE.
Today, the complex comprises the original 39-storey office tower, eight exhibition halls, the Dubai International Convention Centre, which can accommodate more than 4,500 delegates in its multipurpose hall when set in auditorium style, a business club, and residential apartments with a leisure club.

DICC Website Goes Online
The Dubai International Convention Centre today (May 3rd) unveiled its corporate website with dynamic technological elements and easy access to information. The new website can be accessed on www.dicc.ae.
The website demonstrates the growing importance of the Internet as a principal information source and provides the DICC with an effective tool in reaching its audience blending two of the most important aspects of modern marketing values - the ability to target select groups and to continue interactive dialogue.
The Internet has generated innovative avenues to reach an audience in a cost-effective manner and will display features such as full colour, rich graphics and user-friendly pop-up menus. A fully graphical index will lead users to other information that relates to the subject within the site including information about the DICC and a guide to Dubai.
