EDAAD - Scholarship Program
The EDAAD scholarship program was initiated by His Highness Crown Prince of Dubai, General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, and launched on July 21, 2001.EDAAD ensures His Highness’ vision in providing a strong educational base and exceptional developmental opportunities for tomorrow’s potential leaders.
Mission
The mission of the EDAAD Scholarship program is to enhance the skill level of national talent and accelerate the overall development of the UAE in the new economy age by sponsoring high achieving nationals to pursue their studies at top ranked universities worldwide. Its ultimate goal is to enhance the skill level of national talent and accelerate the overall development of the UAE in the 21st century.
Services
The EDAAD Scholarship program provides academic and career advising services to each of its scholars to assist them in choosing their major, selecting an appropriate college and to explore their career through internships and work placements. Academic and career advising is available throughout each student’s course of studies.
Scholarship Benefits and Obligations
Benefits
- Provides full tuition fees
- Monthly salary of US $1700
- Annual amount for 1 round trip airfare from Dubai to city of study and return
- Annual amount for health insurance, books and clothing
- Educational and career advising throughout study period
- Internship and employment referrals during and post graduation
- Access to interactive career planning workshops including "Curriculum Vitae/Résumé Writing" and "Job Search Strategy Planning"
- Access to "Students Only" website section which provides ongoing internship/employment news and opportunities to attend special meetings with university admissions officers when they visit the region on recruitment tours
- Member of the EDAAD Scholarship Program network of students
- All EDAAD scholarship recipients are required to complete at least one 6 week practical work experience/internship during their period of study (summer or mid season break) or immediately following the end of their studies
- Students are required to maintain a "B" average or its equivalent throughout their studies
There exist thousands of colleges and universities around the world that offer solid educational degrees. The EDAAD Scholarship Program has approved the following list of universities.

All applicants must possess the following qualifications in order to be to eligible.
UAE National
- Undergraduate degree with a minimum overall 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
- 213 computer based TOEFL score
- 3 years of work experience of increasing responsibility at the time application is submitted
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Please note that preference will be given to those candidates’ that possess evidence of demonstrated leadership qualities and/or have a plan of action once they complete the master degree.
