Manchester United Soccer Schools
For 2006/07 our experienced MUSS coaching team has come up with yet another exciting and innovative coaching program specifically for players in the UAE. Based on principles used by Manchester United’s world famous Academy the program will test newcomers and seasoned players alike. Focusing on the individual, the program will help players to become the best that they can be, irrespective of their age or ability.Utilising MUSS coaching equipment, such as dribbling mannequins, passing gates and shooting targets, players will be coached the skills of the game and encouraged to grow, develop and love the game! During the twenty week programme there will be additional sessions allocated to players who miss their weekly sessions. The extra days will be announced at a later date and there will be a maximum of two extra sessions for any individual player.
MUSS FAQ’s 1. Will my child get spotted by Manchester United and become a Manchester United player? MUSS was initially created to service the larger community of Manchester United Fans. As many fans do not have the opportunity to visit Old Trafford, Soccer Schools was created to bring a small piece of Manchester United to the fans. Every player who attends a Soccer Schools course will have a positive, unique and fun experience.
2. Will my child’s performance on the pitch be improved? Our coaching staff will pass on the very best of their experience to the children on the course. Our specially designed coaching aids help improve the skills levels in all children. Coaching aids used will include: Mini Soccer Arenas, Passing Gates, Dribbling Mannequins, Soccer Tennis Courts, Free Kick Walls, Shot - speed laser guns.
3. How can I monitor my child’s progress? Our course schedule is specially designed to have maximum parent involvement. Regular parent sessions and newsletters will keep you up-to-date with your child’s progress 4. What are the chances of meeting a player? All participants for the Dubai program will have the chance to win the skills test. Winners will represent Dubai at the World Skills final at Old Trafford Manchester. The winner of the Skill final will be presented to the crowd at half time of a premier league game.
5. What qualifications and checks doyour staff have? All our staff are UEFA/FA qualified and have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau. MUSS is committed to the safety and welfare of all children attending our courses and has a Child Protection Policy in place. On all our courses there is a minimum of 2 staff with First Aid qualifications.
6. What happens if my child gets injured? Al Wasl Club is conveniently located behind Al Wasl Hospital. In the case of minor injury, first aid will be administered by staff with first aid qualifications.
7. Can I book over the telephone? We cannot take bookings over the telephone. Are there any specific courses for Goalkeepers? For the year 2005-2006 there will be no goalkeeping course. But in future we will have courses in the techniques and fundamental skills of goalkeeping.
9. Can I watch my child during the session/matches? The safety and well being of all children on our courses is of paramount importance to us. We therefore restrict visitor access. However, parents and guardians are welcome to watch.
