BPA Worldwide
Founded in 1931 by a group of advertisers, publishers and agencies, BPA Worldwide is an independent, not-for-profit, self-regulating organization governed by a tripartite Board of Directors.The Board of Directors, which sets auditing rules and organizational policies and oversees operations, is comprised of 17 advertiser and advertising agency representatives and 15 publication representatives. BPA’s bylaws require that its Chairman, elected each May, is an executive from an advertiser or advertising agency member company.

The worldwide membership includes more than 2,600 advertisers and agencies, and BPA currently serve 3,000 media properties, including more than 2,000 B-to-B publications, more than 600 consumer magazines and newspapers, more than 300 Web sites, plus events, email newsletters, databases, wireless and other advertiser-supported media.
Each medium has its own reporting format, designed to enable clear, meaningful access to all data relevant to that medium.
For print business and consumer publications, BPA verifies all-paid, all-controlled, or any combination of paid and controlled circulation, reported in a single document, with each type of circulation broken out. Demographics may also be reported and audited.
Web site audits employ census-based methodology to document general traffic for non-registered sites, demographics of registered users, advertising activity across an entire site, and ad-specific traffic.
Event attendance audits may be enhanced with verification of a variety of attendee demographics.
