Located on Creek Park, the new facility has been eagerly anticipated by children and parents alike, as it distinguishingly provides kids with a chance to see the world of infotainment. The City is open daily throughout the festival, from 9am to 10pm on all days except Fridays where the timings will be 4pm-10pm. There are also special facilities for disabled children."This city is the first of its kind across the Middle East and is expected to attract around two million visitors this year," forecasted Sheikh Hamdan. It mainly targets children aged 5-15 as they can do research and discovery of nature, science, technology and culture. As the first in the Middle East, Children’s City is also the world’s fifth largest infotainment facility. It features a 77,000 square meter area, surrounded by the creek and other recreational facilities such as a plush green European atmosphere. Aiming to develop children’s curiosity through fun and play, the facility is extremely interactive, housing a fantastic array of attractions throughout its four main play areas, culture blocks, a planetarium and an amphitheatre. There is also a restaurant and a gift shop where kids can buy educational toys.Learning areas in the Children’s City are telecommunications and computers, aviation and space, international cultures and nature areas. Valuable lessons include Dubai’s economic and historic lifestyle, great accomplishments of ancient and contemporary Arab intellectuals, the cosmopolitan culture of the UAE and of the world; and a nature center. The city also houses a modern, state-of-the-art 100-seat planetarium, that’s a major attraction in its own right. There is also a multi-purpose hall with a moving stage and moving seats for shadow play where children can watch films and listen to music. Furthermore, there are also halls which can be used for parties, plays and film shows. and an even bigger hall available for temporary exhibitions. A cat mascot has been designed for the DCC.Admission is priced at UAE Dhs 10 for children between two and 15 years old, while adults ticket prices are Dhs 15. Family (two adults and two children) tickets are Dhs 40. Group entry tickets are also available, besides a membership system, well-indicating its steadiness for years to come. While nurturing so much education and cultural leaps, Children’s City will be a great tool in developing children’s imagination, promoting discovery through playing and nature exploration as well as learning science and technology principles. With so much to offer, it is virtually guaranteed to be one of the biggest permanent attractions of Dubai.
