Founded in Paris in 1883, the Alliance Française created a worldwide network of more than 1160 non-profit organisations established now in 131 countries. Its mission is to promote France’s heritage and language as well as to encourage the discovery of its contemporary productions in order to create a cultural dialogue between the cultures of France and the hosting country. Placed under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of France in 1982, the Alliance Française in Dubai was built in 1993/94 on a piece of land offered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and U.A.E. Minister of Defense, and it is known as the best place to learn French.The Alliance Française in Dubai has been offering French classes for both adults and children since 1982. More than 3000 students per year register for the courses that are offered in the UAE. Due to the increasing demand, the Alliance Française of Dubai has started French language classes in Barsha at DUCTAC located at the Mall of the Emirates.In order to fulfill its mission as a cultural link between France and the U.A.E., the Alliance Française in Dubai is also offering Arabic Language classes for foreigners.
