Emaar Education
In line with Emaar’s Vision 2010 to become one of the most valuable companies in the world, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Emaar Education, it acquired Singapore-based Raffles Campus Pte Ltd, a premier education provider, in September 2006 to spearhead its projects in the educational sector. Raffles Campus has campuses not only Singapore but also in Dubai, India, Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China and Vietnam. Raffles Campus will manage and operate Emaar’s roster of over 100 educational institutions which will include nurseries, international schools, business schools and universities with emphasis on an integrated model of education from the early development ages in the Nursery and Kindergarten through to the maturity ages in the Tertiary level. By upholding an integrated pathway model of education as one of its strengths, Raffles Campus aims to provide the highest quality private education through its global campus network. These educational institutions are located close to or within Emaar’s master-planned communities in the MENA and Asian Regions and in key international markets. Emaar’s first international school, Emaar International School, opened in Singapore in January 2007. In Dubai, Emaar Education launched three expansive campuses of Raffles International School in the Umm Suqeim area and the Raffles International School (Montessori and International Nurseries) in the Emaar Communities in September 2007. In view of the demand for skilled labour, Emaar Education will be launching a series of vocational education and training programmes in early 2008. These programmes will focus on equipping students with relevant and practical job-ready skills. Raffles International Schools: The main focus of the schools will be on the ever important and vital area of junior, middle and high school education, all of which will be integrated under Raffles International School. The curriculum structures have been designed to cater to international demands and, which will challenge each student to excel in all areas. Students have the flexibility to embark on an educational system which they prefer – International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, American High School Diploma and the Cambridge University’s International General Certificate in Education (IGCE) and General Certificate in Secondary Education (IGCSE). The internationally recognized curricula provide students the flexibility to pursue higher education in their preferred system, be it North American, Australian or British Universities. Besides striving for academic distinction, these campuses have facilities to support our Centres of Excellence - Sciences, Arts and Sports. The Sciences faculty accommodates fully equipped laboratories and also a state-of-the-art technology department with wireless internet access throughout the campus. Sports facilities include multi-purpose halls, swimming pools, tennis courts and abundant field areas for sporting activities. To take performing arts to new heights, we have dance studios, music rooms and practice areas which are acoustically-designed. RafflesInternational School(Montessori and International Nurseries): The Raffles International School (Montessori and International Nurseries) will be located in Emaar Communities, the first of which are located at: Emirates Hills The Springs The Lakes Arabian Ranches The nurseries will cater to children from 1 year to 5 years of age. The nurseries have been planned to accommodate the needs of working parents and will operate from 8.00am to 5.00pm daily. The children will be taught by experienced, qualified and, where required, Montessori trained staff in a fully equipped environment.
