Mahatma Gandhi University
The Mahatma Gandhi University in India was started on 2nd October 1983 and its Act and Statutes were enacted by the Kerala State Legislature vide notification No.3431/Leg C1/85/Law dated 17th April 1985. The University is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and the University Grants Commission (Statutory Authorities under Government of India). It is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. It enrolls 1,50,000 students on an average every year to its 250 Courses in Graduate, Post Graduate, M.Phil and PhD programmes through 21 University Departments. The University Departments have commenced collaborative efforts with many foreign Universities. Within the territorial jurisdiction in the state of Kerala, India, the University has 260 Affiliated Colleges offering various technical and non – technical courses. The Mahatma Gandhi University has established its presence even outside its territorial jurisdiction through the Off-Campus Centers. The mission of the University in establishing Off- Campus Centers in the Gulf region is the imparting of Higher Education for expatriate Indian Community as well as foreigners at affordable fee.
