The Centre for Musical Arts Arts, is one of the finest places in Dubai for music lovers thanks to the vision and dedicated hard work of its Director, Tala Badri. It is run on a profit-free basis and any money made will be used to upgrade its already excellent facilities and resources even further. Teachers will be employed both on a full-time and part-time basis. The centre has five teaching rooms, and a resource centre that will double up as a music shop. “It will have a homely feel - it’s not meant to be a big academy-type place!” said Tala, who will also be teaching flute and piano. “The teachers already identified teach piano, flute, clarinet, violin, saxophone and drums, but I am eagerly looking for those who teach other instruments, especially guitar and voice.” The centre will offer individual and group instrumental classes, individual theory teaching and also group theory classes. Ensemble group classes and practices (orchestra, trios, choir, etc.) will be available for both adults and children of all levels of ability. So far so good, I hear you say, but what’s all the excitement about? Well - Tala plans to take the Music Centre into fields few of us have ever dreamed of and with everything any musician could ever need all under one roof.There will be a sheet music lending library available, music books and sheet music will be on sale, and Tala has just signed a contract with EMI to sell budget classical CDs at the resource centre too. There will be musical instruments for rental or sale, though mostly smaller instruments to begin with due to space restrictions. All instrument, sheet music and book sales will be done in conjunction with The Music Room shop at the Beach Centre.
