The name Heriot-Watt commemorates George Heriot, the renowned 16th century financier to King James VI and James Watt, the great 18th century inventor and engineer. With origins dating back to 1821, the Heriot-Watt University offers a high quality learning experience at its 380 acre main campus in Edinburgh, and now also in Dubai at Academic City. As one of the UK’s leading universities for business and industry, Heriot-Watt has a reputation for innovative education, enterprise and leading-edge research. It aims to educate professionals and thinkers of tomorrow, with its graduates highly sought by employers. Set in a purpose built campus of over 40,000 sq ft, the University offers a range of courses both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The university is adding courses to its Dubai Campus portfolio in response to student interest and demand and there will be more courses in Design, Engineering, etc in the near future.
