Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate's dedicated entity for heritage, arts and culture, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the "Dubai Courts" during their participation in the fourth edition of Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition 2016. The exhibition is organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, from 11th to 13th April at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Saeed Al Naboodah, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture, and His Excellency Taresh Eid Al Mansouri, Director General of Dubai Courts. Both government organisations are seeking to encourage the culture of excellence in all their operations in line with the Dubai Plan 2021 strategy to transform the Emirate into a world-class smart, sustainable city. The MoU also translates the commitment of both entities to support and strengthen their existing strategic partnership.
His Excellency Saeed Al Naboodah, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture, said, “We at Dubai Culture are always keen to build bridges of cooperation and affinity with other government entities and strategic partners in order to achieve the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Our joint collaboration will further establish excellency and quality of government services and will leverage the happiness indicator amongst nationals and residents in the UAE in in the spirit of the Dubai Plan 2021.”
Al Naboodah added, “We are confident that today’s signing of the agreement with the 'Dubai Courts' will support our cultural, arts and heritage activities and enhance the creative and cultural work in the Emirate. The MoU will be mutually beneficial for both parties in facilitating joint projects and initiatives, as well as the exchange of experiences and cooperation in across all operations of the two entities.”
His Excellency Taresh Eid Al Mansouri, Director General of Dubai Courts, said, “We are pleased to move forward in our close collaboration with ‘Dubai Culture’ in line with the strategic objectives to strengthen relations with bodies and institutions in the United Arab Emirates with full transparency, professionalism and commitment. The MoU will contribute to achieve our goals for Dubai to become the world’s leading smart city, as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. We aim to achieve this by benchmarking and exchanging experiences and information with leading entities to develop a growing database of innovative government practices. Our overall objective is to promote the role of innovation as an engine of development for the government and to provide a creative work environment for government employees.”
Al Mansouri also expressed his confidence that inking this agreement will develop a framework for efficient performance of both entities and will promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise at all levels to enhance cooperation and public accessibility between the parties.
The MoU entails both (Dubai Culture) and Dubai Courts selecting appointed teams from both entities to take on a variety of tasks, including the preparation of cooperation agreements and actions to implement the joint projects in addition, both entities will exchange specialised expertise in areas such as training, systems and standards exchange, and consulting services related.
The MoU is also focusing to promote opportunities for cooperation in conducting joint research and studies in various fields, where ‘Dubai Courts’ will participate in cultural, arts and heritage activities organised by (Dubai Culture) and implement easy access for both parties to use each other’s facilities to conduct events and activities of their own and to participate in conferences, seminars, forums and specialised training to develop Emirati human capital across the board.
Both parties are also keen to facilitate services and the implementation of the joint projects in order to highlight their leadership role and will work to hold meetings and workshops to follow up on status on the agreed projects, where both parties will transfer their successful experiences related to the nature of their fields.
This year’s installment of DIGAE 2016 is organised under the theme ‘Local Government and Global Achievements’ with more than 40 government entities from 20 international countries taking part. The DIGAE 2016 affords international and local government institutions the opportunity to review governmental achievements in order to provide the best service practices to their respective countries. It also offers attendees the chance to explore, exchange experiences and networking opportunities, while also highlighting Dubai’s experience in the field of excellence.
Dubai Culture is highlighting its achievements and services in the respective spheres of the arts, culture and heritage and aims to leverage on the successful partnerships with other government authorities and institutions utilising the exhibition platform, helping to achieve its vision of transforming Dubai into a platform for creativity, cultural exchange and diversity – both regionally and globally.
