During the ‘Talent of Women, Spirit of Change’ session held at the hub today, Hana Al Rostamani, Head of Consumer Banking, shared her experiences of her career, the importance of role models and working in a leadership position in the financial industry. She also highlighted the UAE’s role in supporting women and rising leaders in business, and the workforce and society.
The Rising Talents hub, which is being led by one of the UAE’s leading banks, FGB, spotlights women of under 40 years of age, across all business sectors, who have demonstrated remarkable skills and courage in their professional and personal lives, acting as catalysts for change within their companies and communities. Created by the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society, the Rising Talents initiative is built around a strong belief in identifying and nurturing women’s talent for the future of global business and society.
Hana Al Rostamani, Head of the Consumer Banking Group at FGB, said: “Over the last two days at Global Women’s Forum Dubai we have seen and met with lots of motivated and talented women from the UAE. At FGB, in the UAE, 38% of our employees are women with 14% in senior management. When we participate in career fairs and look at our responsibility as an institution to educate women about financial literacy we see ourselves as mentor and leaders to share our experiences with rising talents. We are proud of this country and the support and motivation we get from our wise leadership.”
The Rising Talents initiative at Global Women’s Forum Dubai recognises seven talented women from the GCC region. These women will also become members of the international Women’s Forum Rising Talents Network, which currently features over 160 women, representing some 50 countries.
Featuring 100 speakers and international delegates, Global Women’s Forum Dubai is bringing together leaders from around the world – women and men – with the aim of considering new perspectives for today and tomorrow; creating a powerful, global network capable of boosting the influence of women throughout the world; conceiving innovative and concrete action plans to encourage women’s contribution to society; and promoting diversity in the business world.
Building on the theme “Let’s Innovate!”, Global Women’s Forum Dubai will explore what innovation really means in today's technology-focused era. The event will address women's sustainable role in this revolutionary world, with the aim of strengthening the influence of women globally, maximising their contribution to socio-economic development, and inspiring future generations of women to actively participate in nation-building. Global Women’s Forum Dubai will build on the theme of innovation through five key pillars, Achieving, Creating, Giving, Energising and Sustaining, addressing the sustainable role of women in innovation and building long-lasting networks designed to empower societies through women’s participation.
CEO Champions, a Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society initiative launched in 2010 to drive progress and accountability for women’s advancement in the private and public sectors, is also part of Global Women’s Forum Dubai, in addition to other key Women’s Forum initiatives such as Rising Talents, Women in Media, and the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards.
