Hattlan Media turns Etihad Rail journey into a creative workspace
Hattlan Media, an Emirati company specialising in public relations, government communications, media training and event management, has taken its team meeting beyond the traditional boardroom, holding it aboard an Etihad Rail train in what marks a first-of-its-kind experience for a private Emirati company.
The initiative reflects the company’s approach to innovation while offering a fresh take on the conventional workplace. By moving its team discussion from a meeting room to one of the UAE’s most significant transport developments, Hattlan Media transformed the journey itself into an opportunity for collaboration, conversation and creative thinking.
A meeting in motion
For Hattlan Media, the journey was designed to be more than simply a change of setting. It became part of the meeting experience, reflecting the nature of a business built around ideas, communication and developing new approaches to engaging audiences.
The session provided the team with an opportunity to discuss business priorities and internal matters while experiencing a different working environment and making productive use of travel time to exchange ideas and perspectives.
Dr Sulaiman Al Hattlan, Founder and CEO of Hattlan Media, said: “Our industry is fundamentally driven by ideas, and ideas do not always emerge from traditional meeting rooms. We wanted to try something different by bringing our team together aboard Etihad Rail — not simply for the novelty of the experience, but because we believe the environment in which people work can itself inspire creativity and innovation.”
He added: “Holding our meeting aboard Etihad Rail was also an opportunity to celebrate an important national achievement that reflects the UAE’s vision for an integrated and sustainable transport network connecting the Emirates, supporting the movement of people and goods, and strengthening the country’s economic competitiveness.
“We wanted our team to experience this ambitious project first-hand and to recognise the progress the UAE continues to make across infrastructure, mobility and innovation.”
The experience also reflects a broader shift in how workplaces are being reimagined. As the UAE continues to advance its transport infrastructure, travel is increasingly becoming more than simply a means of moving between destinations. Modern connectivity, power access and comfortable seating can allow passengers to remain connected and productive while on the move.
Where public relations meet the future of mobility
For a company working across public relations, government and corporate communications, the initiative offered a practical example of how major national developments can be experienced not only as infrastructure projects, but also as opportunities for engagement, storytelling and shared experiences.
Through the initiative, Hattlan Media aims to encourage a workplace culture that looks beyond conventional formats and sees everyday experiences as opportunities for creativity and fresh thinking.
The approach reflects the nature of the public relations industry itself, where the ability to identify stories from new perspectives and create meaningful experiences is increasingly central to effective communication.
