The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders was launched in 2002 as the first initiative of the Dubai Development and Investment Authority. The vision of the Establishment is to nurture the domestic entrepreneurial spirit in Dubai and catalyze the development and growth of a key sector of the economy, the Small and Medium Business sector. The Establishment’s core mission is to encourage and facilitate the development of local businesses and entrepreneurial activity in the UAE and offers various incentive measures and well co-ordinated programs to the local business community. The services of the SME extend to both entrepreneurs with an existing business and budding entrepreneurs. The Establishment was created by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as part of the government’s plan that outlines the role of UAE nationals in the development and progress of the nation. Its members comprise young Arab nationals who are capable of shaping the future of the region and influencing the course of events. They realize that their members have unique needs, business objectives and constraints and in order to best assist them with their business needs, The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders have aligned with selective Strategic Partners who can offer significant discounts and value added services to their members. An integral component of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment initiative is a 5% Government procurement program. Under this program, the Government has mandated that all Government departments complete at least 5% of their procurement activities through companies registered with the Establishment. This program greatly increases the scope of projects and opportunities available to Small Medium Establishments and ensures that a sizeable section of Government projects are allocated to companies registered with the Establishment. A number of private corporations have also joined the procurement scheme and have allocated 5% of their internal procurement activities to companies registered with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment. The program is a valuable and highly effective means for corporations to contribute to the growth of the economy and build bridges with the young business leaders of the future.
