El Chico at JBR
True to tradition and an innovator of new tastes, El Chico is the Mexican food original, a legend since 1940. The history of El Chico began in 1926 when Adelaida “Mama” Cuellar’s homemade tamales drew crowds at a country fair outside Dallas. With the help of her 12 children she opened a small café and in 1940 five of her sons moved their mother’s kitchen to Oak Lawn in Dallas and named the restaurant, El Chico. El Chico offers great Mexican food with constant innovations. Each restaurant reflects sixty years of changing tastes and styles and customised guests’ preferences. At El Chico every effort is taken to preserve the heritage while ensuring that the décor and atmosphere is open and friendly. The restaurant uses only the best, highest quality ingredients. The cooking is of a very high order, executed with concentration, confidence and a sure knowledge of traditions culled from Mexican roots. El Chico features traditional Mexican dishes along with many popular, new favorites. The menu items are prepared fresh daily and made by hand. The featured daily blackboard specials ensure a wide variety of choices for every palate. Classic combos at the restaurant include El Cabellero – a spicy beef burrito with chilli con queso, Chicken Enchilada with sour cream sauce, and Fajita Quesadillas. Signature Top Shelf ™menu choices include everything from Fajita Chicken Burritos to Chicken and Mushroom Quesadillas. Guests looking for something a little different can try Sirloin and Camarones, a nine-ounce sirloin and sautéed shrimp. El Chico is open for all day dining at the Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai.
